Amy was born and raised in Harrisburg, PA by her Vietnamese parents, lovingly known to friends as Mama and Papa Nguyen (pronounced WIN). After graduating high school in 2017, her parents dropped her off at the University of Pittsburgh.

Amy easily found her place at Pitt with the rugby team and in the Pitt Marching Band as an alto sax player. Little did she know that the Pitt tailgaters with the yellow M&M atop their van would be more than just the fans who would feed the Pitt Band. After Amy’s first phone call with Brad and Jay for Breakout’s rehab tech position, she officially met them in person as the Band marched along W General Robinson St. There, Jay and Brad fed hot dogs and panther treats to the 40+ saxophones, and that was enough to convince Amy that they were the best people to work with.

Amy started at Breakout as a rehab tech in January 2020 and the rest is history! She worked and learned from Brad and Jay throughout her undergraduate and graduate career at Pitt.  In 2021, Amy graduated Pitt summa cum laude with her B.S. in Rehabilitation Science, a Certificate in Pathokinesiology in Rehabilitation, and Vietnamese minor. Two years later, she graduated with her DPT from Pitt’s #1 nationally ranked DPT program. Now she is ready to BREAKOUT as a physical therapist alongside Jay and Brad, working with and learning from the best!
